This site has been developed by the Al-Nakba Awareness Project, a group of individuals who believe that Palestine just needs justice before any enduring peace can be established.

We intend to correct the gross misrepresentations of Israel's conduct in Palestine relentlessly portrayed over the last 60 years by the United States government, the multi-faceted Israeli lobby and nationwide network, and our shamefully complicit mass media.

We reject not only "hard Zionists" but the attempts by "liberal" or "progressive" Zionists to present the issue as two competing "narratives" or two peoples who "both have suffered" with equally legitimate land claims that must be negotiated through a "peace process." There is a clearly established historical record, to which a clear body of international law has been consistently applied over several decades.

"Narratives" and rhetoric are irrelevant in the face of objective facts and established law.  Applications of international law by the United Nations have resulted in over 100 resolutions of condemnation and censure against Israel and none against the Palestinians, and 43 UN Security Council resolutions to bring Israel under the rule of law have been vetoed by the United States, each time providing the only vote in opposition to international justice.

Crimes have been committed by the Zionist invaders and occupiers against the Palestinian victims of land theft, multiple massacres and ethnic cleansing.  A criminal justice model applies, not a civil litigation model implying a non-existent symmetry, e.g., equal legitimacy of claims, equal culpability, equal power and equal responsibility. Under no system of jurisprudence is a crime victim required to negotiate with the criminal over how much stolen property to return or what restitution to pay. That should be the responsibility of a criminal court, in this case the International Court of Justice that was established with the United Nations Charter.  As a UN member state, Israel is obligated to respect these institutions, an obligation it has flagrantly ignored and defied throughout its history.

Our Al-Nakba Awareness Project draws attention to the conflict's 1948 origins and continuing pattern of ethnic cleansing of the indigenous, largely Arab populations by Jewish violence driven by the archaic, ethnic nationalist ideology of Zionism. This aggressive, racist ideology has caused a catastrophe ("Nakba" in Arabic) for the Arabs and a self-destructive degradation of Israeli society in a land that should and can be shared by both peoples in a democratic, secular, egalitarian state or two equal and egalitarian states in confederation since the resources of the geographically distinctive land of Canaan/Palestine/Israel must be equitably shared.

In order to establish an enduring peace, Palestine first needs the justice long denied.
